For the new series of the BBC’s Top Gear, the familiar test track has been reimagined. Gone is the Astra that the celebrities used to bash around the track, replaced by a rallycross Mini. As you can see in the image below, the new track starts in the same location as the old, but after the first corner things change dramatically. Instead of turning all the way around to the left and continuing on to Chicago, Stars in a Rallycross car continue straight on and into a the first half of the new rally stage.

The first stage essentially takes them straight from turn one, through a water crossing and then directly down to Hammerhead, located at the end of the main runway. After negotiating Hammerhead, the second rally stage veers off to the left, through a new hairpin turn, and then over a jump before joining the track again at the Follow Through. From then on, the track is business as usual.
