£11,000,000 worth of cars tested
An Aston Martin DB4, Jaguar XKSS, Tesla Model X, Lamborghini Huracan Performante, Ripsaw EV2, Ford GT and Ariel Nomad. These are just some of the cars which appeared on The Grand Tour Series 2 – and you’ll be surprised to know that the total value of all the vehicles featured adds up to around £11,000,000!
700,000 collective miles flown
The boys visited many countries in order to film all of the pieces required for The Grand Tour Series 2. Obviously the entire cast and crew needed to come along for the ride, and a total of 700,000 miles were flown.
2,000 hours of footage shot
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May don’t always get their lines right, and over 2,000 hours of footage were shot for The Grand Tour Series 2. Some say almost 10 hours of the footage featured Richard Hammond crashing.
160 – combined aged of presenters
It’s no secret that the boys are not getting any younger – what with their combined ages adding up to 160…
100 days of travelling
100 days were spent on the road (or in the air) in order to film The Grand Tour Series 2. That’s more than 3 months!
63 cars used
The cars are still the stars of The Grand Tour Series 2 – and you might be interested to know that some 63 vehicles were featured.

1 world record broken
More often than not, the boys are ambitious but rubbish… but on this occasion they managed to get it together! We’re of course talking about Clarkson’s water speed record at Coniston Speed Week, piloting the “Pond Bug” – 47.81mph for the ‘experimental amphibious unlimited’ class. Good job chaps!
1 broken leg
Richard Hammond had yet another high-speed crash during filming for The Grand Tour Series 2 – although this time it was rather more fiery than usual. Hammond broke his leg when the Rimac Concept One electric supercar he was driving left a mountain road in St Gallen in northeastern Switzerland and burst into flames. All things considered, it could have been far worse.
1 bout of pneumonia
Jeremy Clarkson spent three nights spasming in his bed before a doctor sent him for tests at the hospital – where it was revealed that he had a bout of pneumonia so severe that he could have died. “It’s really really annoying because I’ve never had one day off work since I started in 1978,” he said at the time.
1 undisclosed illness
Er… James May was completely fine – and definitely wasn’t admitted to hospital suffering an undisclosed illness…
